⭐Free!⭐ Generative Workshop: Tarot as Storytelling
In this 1-hour group writing session, we’ll investigate how tarot holds a mirror up to our innermost selves by sharing a three-card spread to use as a generative prompt, drawing upon the archetypes of the major arcana as characters in our lives.
Sunday, Aug 23 8-9PM ET

⭐Free!⭐ Craft Quickie: On Transformative Exposition
What’s exposition? Typically, it’s just the backstory behind ongoing action and how it’s told, but thoughtful expo is more than an explainer — it’s a reveal that both invites reevaluation AND produces suspense. In other words, a single beat of backstory can get readers thinking Ohhh…! about ongoing action. And Uh-oh! about what’s to come.
In this 1-hour generative workshop, we’ll dive into the craft behind transformative expo beats and where and why we’d want them.
We’ll read setup snippets by Aimee Bender and Melissa Bank with those beats obscured and break down what they did. And then we’ll practice writing our own.
Sunday, Aug 16 8-9PM ET
